Independence Day was celebrated to the rhythm of rock music
On Wednesday, July 3rd, the Student Plaza of the Instituto Cultural Domínico Americano (ICDA) was filled with energy and music to commemorate the Independence Day of the United States with a rock concert. The band Neokarma took charge of livening up the event, delivering an electrifying performance.
Organized by the Cultural Directorate of ICDA, the event brought together families, students, teachers, friends, special guests, and collaborators for an unforgettable evening. In addition to the festive atmosphere, attendees enjoyed a varied food court, live DJ, and fun activities that complemented the experience.
The welcoming remarks were given by Mrs. Darys Estrella, President of the Board of Directors of ICDA. The activity was graced by the distinguished presence of representatives and collaborators from the United States Embassy in Santo Domingo. Mr. Greg Segas, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, addressed the attendees with words marking this commemoration prior to the start of the event; also in attendance were Mrs. Chelsia Hetrick, Public Affairs Counselor; and Mr. Timothy Brown, Cultural Attaché. Alongside members of the Board of Directors of the Instituto Cultural Domínico Americano: Mrs. Lucy Threan de Lamarche, Mrs. Hilda Polanco, Mr. Francisco Abate, Mr. Robert Valdez, Mr. Leonardo Santoni, and our Executive Director, Engineer Ramón Sosa.
Neokarma stood out for their energy and for performing rock classics that deeply connected with the audience.
This celebration of U.S. Independence once again demonstrated that the power of music brings people together and creates memorable experiences.
