Electronic information resources

The electronic information resources to which the BL is subscribed; or those that the BL has access to via institutional agreements are:

EBSCO HOST: indexes, academic periodicals, and full-text articles and documents covering various areas of science and the humanities. Access is granted through a username and password provided to students and teachers of the Domínico Americano School (DAS) and the Universidad Domínico Americano.

eLibraryUSA: provides access to millions of publications, scholarly articles, e-books, audio, video, and multimedia resources. It includes databases such as Academic OneFile, JSTOR, ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Database, and Research in Context, as well as tools for English language learning and content related to the history and culture of the United States, technology, environment, health, social sciences, literature, economics, business administration, among other topics of interest.

It can only be accessed from the Library’s workstations and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

e-Libro: is the most comprehensive virtual library platform for academic content in Spanish. It provides access to textbooks selected by the professors of the degree programs at the Domínico Americano University (UNICDA), once the subscription has been made. The Lincoln Library service staff can provide you with the username and access password.

American English (AE): is a platform offering informational and audiovisual resources for teaching and learning English as a foreign language, as well as for exploring topics related to American culture. It can be accessed from locations outside the Lincoln Library.

Undergraduate and Graduate Theses

The complete documents of undergraduate and graduate program theses that meet the requirements established in the academic regulations of the Universidad Domínico Americano (UNICDA) can be consulted in printed format in the general reading room, and in digital format through the Library’s online catalog:

  • Type “UNICDA” in the search box to view all available theses in PDF format.

 

  • Click on the message “Thesis available in PDF format” to view the document.

General Collection:

The collection of technical documents related to the demands of the majors taught by the Domínico Americano University is located in the main reading room of the BL. It specializes in the topics of: information and computer science; education, texts on methodology for the teaching of the English language; tourism, gastronomy and hotel and restaurant administration; finance, marketing and business administration; and literature: universal, American, Latin American and Dominican; also American and Dominican history; among others.

The information resources of both collections, books, audiovisuals, etc. are organized following the guidelines of the Dewey decimal system.
