This conference will promote volunteerism as one of the key values of U.S. culture, and invite organizations and youth to learn best practices on community service, and the benefits of volunteering for professional and organizational development. The conference will bring together Mission staff, alumni of U.S. government-sponsored programs and other key stakeholders in the D.R. to share their experiences and promote volunteering opportunities including the binational center’s service program. This conference will be live streamed via social media.
The conference will include presentations and panels to share best practices for promoting and creating volunteerism opportunities including how to develop and lead an activity, recruitment, digital volunteerism, leadership strategies to work and motivate volunteers, and how to find opportunities locally.
This will be a conference for 150 high school and university students, educators, academia, community development organizations, entrepreneurs, and alumni.
