The Universidad Domínico Americano (UNICDA) celebrated with great emotion its XX Ordinary Graduation, an event that marked the end of an important stage in the lives of the graduates and the beginning of a promising path towards the future.
The ceremony took place at the Patrick N. Hughson Auditorium of the Instituto Cultural Domínico Americano where graduates, family members, and administrative and teaching staff of the university gathered to commemorate their academic achievements.
The ceremony was headed by Eng. Ramón Sosa, Rector of UNICDA, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and how this achievement represents the beginning of new opportunities for the graduates. He further reminded them that this moment not only symbolizes the end of an important stage, but also the beginning of a constant journey of learning and growth.
The keynote speech was given by Eng. Héctor Aquino, a distinguished UNICDA graduate and guest speaker. Mr. Aquino shared his experiences in the field of technology, and encouraged the graduates to face future challenges with resilience, leadership and perseverance, emphasizing the challenges that await them in their various fields.
The ceremony continued with inspirational speeches from two of its outstanding honor students: José Alfredo de la Cruz Asencio and Alba Melissa Paniagua Ortega, representing students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering and the Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching-Oriented English, respectively. They shared motivational speeches of perseverance and determination, expressed their gratitude to their relatives, teachers and classmates, and shared inspiring anecdotes that highlighted the importance of effort and dedication on the road to success.
Diplomas were presented to the graduates, recognizing their hard work and dedication, and special distinctions were awarded to outstanding students of merit for their academic performance throughout their time at the university.
In addition, the UNICDA Mixed Choir performed emblematic musical interpretations, and the performance of its university hymn “UNICDA Eterna”, ending the ceremony of the XX Ordinary Graduation with a moving closing act that symbolized the conclusion of this academic stage and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the lives of the graduates.
