This past February 25th, the audience who attended the presentation of Talking About the Homeland experienced a unique and unforgettable evening, where art, reflection, and emotion came together. The collective play, staged by the Theater Workshop of the ICDA through its Cultural Directorate and its School of Art and Culture, provided a space to explore and rethink our identity, the values that define us, and the deep meaning of being part of a nation.
Under the direction of the renowned Jorge Santiago, head of the workshop, the production delved into a reflection on our history and present, inviting attendees to question and debate the concept of homeland, a topic so relevant in these times. Through the voices and performances of the talented members of the ICDA Theater Workshop, the play allowed the audience to connect with our essence as a society and with the ideals that unite us.
Moreover, the evening featured a moving tribute to two fundamental pillars of the ICDA Theater Workshop’s history. He truly serves as a driving force of creativity and reflection within the ICDA’s cultural space.
Likewise, homage was paid to Yvelisse Suncar, who, with 36 years of commitment and passion for theater, has been a key figure within the group. Her love and dedication to the art have left a lasting impact on generations of artists and spectators, leaving an indelible mark on the local theater scene.
The evening, filled with emotion and gratitude, concluded with applause, smiles, and heartfelt thanks for being part of an event that celebrates not only art but also the values that unite us as a nation.
